Woodstock West Begins
On Tuesday, May 5, the AUSA and Student Senate met and approved a two-day strike, by a vote of 13-0-1. Their demands included:
1) Immediate unilateral U.S. withdrawal from Southeast Asia
2) Release of all political prisoners (e.g. Black Panther leader Bobby Seale)
3) End to university complicity with war-related efforts
Across the nation, hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed, as non-violent student protests involving more than 4 million students swept the country.

1,500 students were in attendance at the rally – things were just getting started.
