Woodstock West: Day 3

On the morning of May 7, a group of concerned faculty met to discuss whether to support the strike. They voted in favor with 83-4-5. This document shows the statements faculty were prepared to issue to the media, and how they could support the students by marshaling, coordinating writing campaigns, providing a “call list” of faculty in case of emergency, and other short and long-term support mechanisms.

Ralph Nader spoke, as scheduled, to a crowd of several thousand, and the night ended quietly, with a planned 10 AM convocation scheduled with Chancellor Mitchell the next day.
