This dual display featured framed, digital images of the Passenger Pigeon, Ivory-billed Woodpecker, Bachman’s Warbler, Eskimo Curlew, Carolina Parakeet and Imperial Woodpecker, from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s extinct bird collection. The framed prints are interspersed with enlarged pictures from John James Audubon’s The Birds of America: From Drawings Made in the United States and their Territories, original print editions of Audubon’s The Birds of America and Quadrupeds of North America, and Carl Lumholtz’s Unknown Mexico: A Record of Five Years’ Exploration Among the Tribes of the Western Sierra Madre; In the Tierra Caliente of Tepic and Jalisco; And Among the Tarascos of Michoacan.
