In August 1990, Iraq invaded and attempted to annex the nation of Kuwait. Iraqi forces occupied Kuwait for seven months, at which point the U.S., assisted by the U.K., France, and Saudi Arabia, invaded. DU students and community members protested several times against US involvement.
