Student led activism has been present on DU's campus for decades. What sets movements of today apart from the from the movements of the past is the presence of social media and students' ability to instantly document and share stories and photos from the middle of demonstrations. This means that the academic library and archives no longer serve as the only keeper or curator of student records, as information about student protests can be accessed and searched via tags on social media sites. This exhibit introduces student-led movements of present day. We encourage researchers to also explore the events' hashtags to see more community created and tagged content.
