Description
Dr. Saling Simon was born in New York City, but after graduating from college, he developed tuberculosis and migrated to Denver in search of a cure. Saling went on to receive a medical degree from Denver's Gross Medical College in 1895 and stayed to treat other tuberculosis victims, opening his practice in the same year. From 1917 to 1919, he served as medical director of National Jewish Hospital, where he instituted the research department.
