The Ex-Patients Home grew out of an early Denver Jewish aid association founded in 1908 to assist recovering tuberculosis victims get back on their feet. Eventually a facility was built in 1916 to provide ex-patients with food and shelter, and financial support while they gained strength and were transitioned into new jobs or professions which would enable them to support themselves.
